Artis Senior Living of Brick is proud to offer a monthly caregiver support group to the community. This support group is for all caregivers who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or cognitive loss.

Ashley Campbell spent three years touring with her father, Glen Campbell, playing banjo and keyboards. She stayed with him, both on stage and off, during his battle with Alzheimer’s as a musician in his band and as a caregiver at home. As the documentary Glen Campbell, I’ll Be Me gained momentum, Ashley found herself becoming an advocate to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and joining the fight to find a cure.

Join us as Ashley shares her insights and experiences from caring for her father.

The Best Anniversary

My husband has aphasia and has lost his ability to speak. It’s very frustrating for him, and it’s a sadness for me too. So imagine my surprise when Artis helped him celebrate our wedding anniversary. When I visited him that day, residents and staff were all gathered around the room, carrying a banner the residents had made—with my husband in the center, holding a bouquet of flowers and a card for me! They even helped him sign his name on the card—something he hadn’t been able to do in years! In a way, it was one of our best anniversary celebrations. Thank you Artis, from the bottom of my heart.
